Tithe & Offerings
What is a tithe and how is it different from an offering?
The word, "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. A tithe is the first 10% of your income. An offering is anything you give above and beyond the 10%.
Why do we tithe?
The Bible says, The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives. (Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB) Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also God's personal invitation to an outpouring of his blessing in your life.
The Legacy Center
TLC’s purpose is to change the communities of Bushwick, Ridgewood, and East New York for the good, person by person, family by family, and school by school.
Happy Holidays
TLC sponsors events ranging from Mother’s Day Celebrations at local family shelters, to delivering donated turkeys during Thanksgiving, to bringing Christmas gifts to children of incarcerated parents during the Holidays.
Supply The Future
TLC sponsors a network of local schools through backpack, school supplies, clothing and book drives.
Legacy Scholars
TLC also offers tutoring in preparation of state tests, workshops and training for parents.
Kingdom builders
Kingdom Builders:// [king-duhm bil-ders] - noun A group of passionate individuals and families who are determined to be the means by which God's Kingdom is established.
Resources gathered through the Kingdom Builders will be utilized to support Regional Missions like Brooklyn Teen Challenge, Campus Crusade and New Life Home for Women & Children. In addition, it's used to support Global Missions like Christian Haitian Outreach, Lighthouse International and Catastrophic Disasters in poverty stricken countries.
