All statistics and research would prove that years of loneliness, abuse, drugs and hidden pain would have left Maria Durso a distraught individual. Yet God kept her and preserved her life.

Today, the wife of our senior pastor, Michael Durso, Maria has assisted her husband as he has pastored Christ Tabernacle since 1985. As the first Church to come out of the Brooklyn Tabernacle, Maria has experienced first hand the faithfulness and grace of God to equip them to meet the demands of a growing urban church.

A pastor’s wife and mother of three grown sons, Maria believes that one of our greatest ministries is prayer. She heads up the Prayer Band, along with workers who gather each day to intercede for the needs of the congregation, various ministries, or requests that are phoned in to the church.

In addition to leading the Prayer Band, Maria also oversees the Women’s Ministry at Christ Tabernacle, a ministry geared to encouraging women through fellowship, worship and the Word of God.

God continues to open doors for her to minister in retreats, seminars and workshops. Although she would never have imagined, God has seen fit to use her throughout the US and Canada to minister to women in every possible state of need. She is truly a trophy of God's grace.
